Corporate Social Responsibility

These values are alive not only on paper but are present in our daily work and attitudes. We accept challenges and find practical solutions, act professionally and implement good business practices.

Borenius takes an active role in the activities of the Institute for Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility to facilitate development of best corporate practice in Latvia. Currently we are helping to implement the corporate sustainability index project. Our involvement in the project takes the shape of offering assistance to entrepreneurs enabling them to strive to improve their activities towards the corporate internal environment, the general public, and the environment.

We are aware that we are part of society and we want to help make society better. We provide regular assistance to several organizations:

  • We motivate our employees to engage in pro bono matters and likewise take an active role in the work of the Legal Aid and Assistance Centre at the University of Latvia, Faculty of Law, as well as involvement in the activities of the Pro Bono Legal Aid Centre for NGOs, being also among the founders of this organization


  • Enthusiasm and devotion are qualities we highly appreciate in our future colleagues. To help students improve and develop these qualities, we support prospective experts in law by taking an active part in moot court competitions organized by the European Law Students Association

  • We provide legal assistance to the Latvian Children’s Fund to help them achieve their targets – to procure improvement of the moral, legal, physical, mental and material conditions of children and teenagers, likewise guidance of the new generation towards general human values
  • Our partner Lauris Liepa heralds a project implemented by the Latvian National Library Support Association “The heart desires that children read” (“Sirsniņa prasa, lai bērniņš lasa”). We care that children throughout Latvia should have access to literature. For this reason we also support the project “Children and youth jury” within the framework of which rural libraries in Latvia are supplied with the latest and best children’s literature
  • We also support the Society for the protection of the Town of Jurmala, helping to advance the development of Jurmala in a favourable and friendly manner for local people
